National Industrial and Economic Committee: INALUM is an Anchor of Kuala Tanjung Industrial Estate

Kuala Tanjung (20/12) - National Economy and Industry Committee entourage coordinated by Johnny Darmawan and Director General of International Industrial Access and Development (KPAII) Kemenperin I Gusti Putu Suryawirawan paid a working visit to PT INALUM (Persero) Smelter at Kuala Tanjung (20/12). The visit was conducted in order to see INALUM's readiness in expanding the port and making Kuala Tanjung become one of the largest industrial areas on the island of Sumatra.

The group was received directly by the Director of HR & General Affairs INALUM Carry E.F. Mumbunan was accompanied by other INALUM management at INALUM Kuala Tanjung Main Office. On that occasion, Johnny Darmawan as one of the members of the National Economic and Industrial Committee and former President Director of PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) explained that Kuala Tanjung should be one of the big industrial and port areas and of course this is supported by the existence of INALUM as an industrial Anchor in Kuala Tanjung.

"I hope Kuala Tanjung can become one of the big industrial and port areas so that ship transportation is not only centered in Tanjung Priok, it is supported by INALUM as an industrial Anchor in Kuala Tanjung," said Johnny.

Furthermore, Johnny hopes that in the future there will be a synergy between Pelindo I and INALUM in managing the Port of Kuala Tanjung to pursue the development of port projects in Kuala Tanjung. "Pelindo and INALUM must work together to realize the port project of Kuala Tanjung into a big port," said Johnny.

On the occasion, Director of HR & General Affairs INALUM Carry E.F. Mumbunan explained that INALUM has several development projects that will later support Kuala Tanjung into a huge industrial estate. "INALUM has several development projects to increase production capacity which is still 250 thousand tons of Aluminum per year to 500 thousand tons of Aluminum per year which will make Kuala Tanjung as a huge industrial area," said Carry.

After the discussion and question and answer session ended, the event was then continued by symbolic handover of the souvenir by the Director of HR & General Affairs INALUM Carry E.F. Mumbunan to Johnny Darmawan as representative of National Economic and Industry Committee and photo together in front of INALUM Kuala Tanjung Main Office before finally closed with field visit and lunch together.
