Born on January 18, 1955. Based in Jakarta. He graduated from Bandung Institute of Technology in Mechanical Engineering (1979), then continued with a Bachelor of Economics degree from Universitas Indonesia (1988) and earned a Master of Science degree in Industrial System Engineering from University of Florida, USA (1991).
He worked not only in private companies or state-owned companies but also served in the Government of Indonesia. His career in private companies and SOEs were General Manager of PT Rekadaya Sarana from 1981 to 1982, Commissioner of PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) from 1995 to 2002, President Commissioner of PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) from 2002 to 2006, Commissioner of PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda (Persero) from 1999 to 2004, Commissioner of PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) from 2001 to 2003, Commissioner of PT Pupuk Kujang (Persero) from 2004 to 2011, Commissioner of PT Semen Gresik Tbk (Persero) from 2005 to 2006, President Commissioner of PT Boma Bisma Indra (Persero) from 2008 to 2011, President Commissioner of PT Rekayasa Industri (Persero) from 2011 to 2014. While in the Government of Indonesia he served as General Director of Metals, Machinery, Electronics and Multivarious Industries Department in Ministry of Industry Republic of Indonesia from August 1998 to March 2002, General Director of Small and Medium Industry in Ministry of Industry Republic of Indonesia from March 2002 to March 2004, Head of Industrial Research and Development in Ministry of Industry Republic of Indonesia from March 2004 to May 2005, the General Secretary in Ministry of Industry Republic of Indonesia from May to October 2010, General Director of International Industry Cooperation in Ministry of Industry Republic of Indonesia from October 2010 to February 2015.
