Sumatera Utara, 16 Maret 2024 - Indonesian BUMN Minister Erick Thohir continues to encourage the BUMN Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program to be increasingly beneficial to society. This time Erick Thohir, represented by his Special Staff Arya Sinulingga, handed over assistance to the Alpha Omega Foundation as an institution that cares about developing children with disabilities on Thursday (15/3) in Karo Regency, North Sumatra.
The assistance provided was in the form of medicines and press machines worth a total of IDR 380 million. This assistance is a BUMN TJSL program with details of medicines worth IDR 305 million and press machines IDR 75 million. Assistance came from state-owned companies, including PT Indonesia Asahan Alumunium, PalmCo (a sub-holding of PT Perkebunan Nusantara), and PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero).
"I was sent by Mr. Erick to provide assistance to the children here through the Alpha Omega foundation. "Because here the children are taught many things to be able to live independently according to their abilities, taking care of livestock, being taught to grow crops, to processing coffee beans and supplying coffee for the cafes managed by the Foundation," said Arya Sinulingga.

The Alpha Omega Foundation supports 80 disabled children with special needs. This foundation empowers children to fatten cows, process fertilizer produced from animal waste, and also process coffee beans.
Also attending the activity were the Chairman of the Alpha Omega Pt (Pertua) Foundation Daniel Bukit, SVP PKBL Inalum Daniel Jimmy Hutauruk, and Head of HK & TJSL PalmCo Division Ridho Syahputra Manurung, GM PT Telkom North Sumatra Handoko.
Welcoming the assistance from BUMN, the chairman of the Pt Daniel Bukit foundation expressed his gratitude "We are very grateful here for all the assistance provided. "We didn't expect Mr. Erick Thohir and BUMN to care so much about us and the disabled children here," said Daniel.
Apart from providing assistance with press machines and medicines, Minister Erick through special staff Arya Sinulingga also provided assistance with 1 ambulance for the Moderamen of the Batak Christian Protestant Church (GBKP), Karo Regency, North Sumatra on Thursday (15/3). This assistance is a BUMN TJSL program originating from PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Also present at the aid handover ceremony was the General Chair of GBKP Moderamen Pdt. (Pastor) Krismas Imanta Barus and BRI Branch Manager Kabanjahe Marsudi.
"We are very grateful for the assistance from Mr. Erick Thohir and also state-owned enterprises, especially BRI. We will use this ambulance to help people in Karo Regency who need it. "This will expand the scope of services provided when there is a need to deliver corpses or emergency needs from the community," concluded Rev. Imanta Barus Christmas.
