Celebrate 2022 National Batik Day, INALUM Bangga Cultured Batik Mangrove in Batu Bara

Batu Bara, 2 October 2022 – PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminum (Persero) or INALUM welcomes the National Batik Day 2022 by continuing to maintain the commitment in the empowerment of Local Batik Mangrove Products in Batu Bara Regency. The commitment is appointed by INALUM by conducting sustainable coaching with mother groups on the coast of Batu Bara Regency and collaborating with Sangar Batik Liza Mangrove.

Vice President CSR/TJSL INALUM Ali Hasian calls that this program is a INALUM step in supporting creativity and UMKM spirit present in Batu Bara community in the manufacturing sector of batik kriya which uses mangrove as the basic material of dyeing its fabric.

“See the potency of mangrove that is so large as well as the absence of mangrove derivative processed products and as a form of female empowerment, then INALUM cooperates with Sanggar Batik Liza Magrove held Batik Making Training with mangrove as a natural dye base material. Through this training is expected that people know and are able to optimize the potency of mangrove and also develop UMKM Regency Batu Bara,&rdoquo; Ali said.

INALUM conducts empowerment and coaching by providing training and typing equipment to beneficiaries. There are 20 mothers who come from Batu Bara (Desa Perupuk 10 People, Desa Gambus Laut 5 People, Kuala Tanjung 5 people Village) who get training and become a company partner. There are three benefits of this program; (1) The community is able to make batik and take advantage of mangrove as natural coloring; (2) Developing mangrove potential as a competitive derivative product; (3) Developing the mindset of society related to mangrove benefits.

Based on the Cooperation Agreement between INALUM and Sanggar Batik Liza Mangrove, after the training of carried out batik, Sanggar Batik Liza Mangrove is responsible for conducting coaching and assisting the promotion of minimal training participants to 4 April 2024. The results, in 2022, Batik Mangrove community in Batu Bara has formed an official community called Batik Bunga Mangrove. The training itself covers how to make mangrove batik, how to marketing and financial management and digital marketing, then last is to increase competitiveness and integrated coaching in Bara Stone Regency for long term.
