Azizi: Collaborated with INALUM, Fight to Pantai Sejarah Re-convervation

PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminum or INALUM seeks to encourage environmental and social improvement programs together with local community groups, one of which is mangrove conservation activities which are also assisted by the Love Mangrove Farmers Group (KTCM).

INALUM Corporate Secretary Mahyaruddin Ende said that social innovation such as mangrove conservation will always be carried out and developed because it is in accordance with Inalum's environmental & energy policies. Apart from that, the involvement of local communities such as KTCM is also the biggest factor in the success of this program.

"As a company that is committed to providing company operations that prioritize environmental protection and preventing environmental pollution, this mangrove conservation program needs to always be monitored and developed. Especially with assistance from local communities who really help run this program, namely KTCM, making this program successful "according to plan and deserves to be appreciated," said Mahyaruddin.

KTCM itself is chaired by Azizi who lives in Gambus Laut and Perupuk. Azizi received the title "Local Hero INALUM" because of the dedication he gave to the Historical Beach and mangrove conservation on the coast of Batu Bara Regency. INALUM's Local Hero is the community around the Company who plays an important role in empowering the economy, environment and social community, together with the Company carrying out CSR programs that are sustainable and have a positive impact on the community.

Azizi deserves this title, this can be seen when most people don't care about even cutting down mangrove trees to make firewood, he decided to continue planting and seeding mangroves traditionally and consistently for many years. Currently, it has been proven that his hard work has paid off and has been recognized and awarded by the Ministry of the Environment (KLHK) and has become INALUM's partner in receiving the 2022 GOLD PROPER award.

“In the past, Historical Beach was a very beautiful beach. For this reason, I am trying to make this Historical Beach a tourist destination that can become attractive again, with various developments and preserving Mangrove forests. "Of course, to achieve this success, let's work together and support each other between the community and the government, and also Inalum," said Azizi.

Several programs have been carried out by Azizi, KTCM, and Inalum to help develop Mangrove Park Eduekotourism on the Historical Coast, namely infrastructure improvements, landscaping areas, SME empowerment, foster trees, and digitalization. This development effort will continue to be carried out by Inalum and assisted by Local Heroes from Historic Beach, namely Azizi and members of the Love Mangrove Farmers Group or KTCM.
