Supporting MSME Development: INALUM and Pelindo I Carry out Initial Shipment of Exports of MSME Products in Batu Bara Regency

Kuala Tanjung (4/6) - PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Persero) or INALUM together with Pelindo I and the Government of Batu Bara Regency held the first export shipment ceremony for the products of MSME entrepreneurs in Batu Bara Regency at Pier C of Kuala Tanjung Port on Friday (4/6).

On this occasion, INALUM's Managing Director Sophia Isabella Wattimena explained the background of this activity. "INALUM as a BUMN is committed to continuing to contribute to the community, especially in improving the economy of MSMEs in Batu Bara Regency, it is an honor for us to establish a synergy with Pelindo I and the Batu Bara Regency Government to provide added value in terms of utilizing Pier C for exporting MSME products in Batu Regency. Bara," said Sophia.

Furthermore, Sophia also hopes that in the future the UMKM of Batu Bara Regency can develop further. "Hopefully, the Batu Bara Regency UMKM can be more advanced and known abroad," said Sophia.

Furthermore, the President Director of PT Prima Multi Terminal, Rudi Susanto as a subsidiary of Pelindo I, said that this export is expected to be carried out in a sustainable manner. "As one of the National Strategic Projects, Kuala Tanjung Port is expected to continue to assist the export of MSMEs in the Coal Regency so that it can provide added value for the community," explained Rudi.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Batu Bara, Ir. H. Zahir, M.AP in his speech conveyed his ideals for SMEs in Batu Bara Regency. "Hopefully in the future the MSMEs of Batu Bara Regency can advance and can survive in the midst of a pandemic. Our task is indeed in the midst of this pandemic, it is quite difficult to maintain the wheels of the economy while suppressing the spread of COVID-19, but with support from all parties including INALUM and Pelindo I we certainly can," said Zahir.

The series of ceremonial events were then closed with the giving of donations to orphans followed by the breaking of jugs by the Regent of Batu Bara, the Managing Director of INALUM and the President Director of PT Prima Multi Terminal and a group photo. Also attending the event were the Head of the Coal State Prosecutor's Office, Dandim 0208 Asahan, Danlanal Tanjung Balai Asahan, Head of Customs and Excise Kuala Tanjung, Head of KSOP Kuala Tanjung and Forkompinda, MSME entrepreneurs and other community leaders who were present.
