Inalum and Asahan Regency Government Sign Approval of the Emergency Action Plan (RTD) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Documents

In accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of PUPR, that every dam owner / manager must certify the dam he manages. This certification is issued by the Minister of PUPR. As the certification phase, an Emergency Action Plan is prepared, legalized and disseminated to affected areas in the event of a dam failure which is very much needed as a requirement for Certification.

PT Inalum (Persero) has 3 (three) dams, namely: Regulatory Dam, Siguragura Dam and Ladder Dam. Based on the analysis conducted by dam experts, if there is a failure of the dam, then the affected areas will be in Toba Regency and Asahan Regency which are downstream from the PT Inalum (Persero) PLTA.

On Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at the office of the Asahan Regent, Inalum paid a friendly visit to the Asahan Regency Government. The meeting is a form of friendship with local stakeholders as well as the joint signing of the Emergency Action Plan (RTD) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents in the event of an emergency at Inalum's dam.

In this activity, it was seen that the Regent of Asahan signed the approval of the PT Inalum (Persero) RTD document witnessed by the Acting Regional Secretary of Asahan Regency, the Head of the Asahan Regency Kominfo, the Head of Asahan Regency BPBD, the Head of Asahan Regional Secretariat Protocol, Antony Galingging Deputy General Manager of Operations and Civil PLTA, Aprili Gunawan , Manager of Civil and Transmission Networks, A. Iqbal Harahap, Manager of Public Relations of PLTA.

Where previously the RTD socialization relay had been discussed together with related agencies in each district, including: BPBD, Social Service, Health Service and the head of the region concerned. Where in the process of drafting, ratifying and disseminating RTD and SOPs, the company, which has operated the legendary hydropower plant in Asahan River, was assisted by a consultant from PT Surveyor Indonesia.

After being approved by the Asahan Regency Government, this state-owned company together with consultants and related agencies will immediately conduct outreach to potentially affected communities regarding RTD and dam emergency SOP.

In addition, the Regent hopes that the collaboration between the Asahan Regency Government and PT Inalum (Persero) can provide useful things for the people of Asahan Regency.
